When can I respond?

The census will start mailing postcards around the middle March with the goal of every home receiving their invitation by April 1st. Once you receive yours, you can get counted!

How do I respond?

You can respond online, via mail, or by phone.

What will the census ask?

The census asks about your home, its inhabitants, and their demographics; see the full list here. With this short list of questions, it shouldn’t take much more than 15 minutes to get counted.

Is my information safe?

The short answer is yes! The anonymity of your answers is protected by federal law, so you don’t need to choose between your privacy and your community.

However, we understand privacy is a thorough concern that demands thorough, accurate information. To provide that, we could think of no better source than the Census Bureau itself. Visit their privacy page to learn more about how the Census keeps your information safe and anonymous.
